Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Little Bailey still has tiny poos...

Young Bun
Evening everyone. I hope you are all fine. My condolences to those of you that have lost a bun recently and good vibes to those not so well..

Well Bailey has been home for nearly 3 weeks now and she's settled in a charm.
I was a little concerned as she was doing tiny tiny poos. They were really small and hard, often tear drop shaped. They are now flat or round, but still really small. She does pass normal hay filled ones though. Should I be worried? Her stomach doesn't seem bloated, she's still nuts and really beautiful :)

Cheers in advance

The larger the poo the better the digestive system is. Feed lots of hay and only the amount of pellets on the side of the pack you are using, this usually is about 25 - 50g. Once they are eating lots of hay or grass (introduce this slowly) you will find you will have magnificent sized poo's

I cut back on the boys pellets and veg and found they went through much more hay and have masses of huge poos.

They only got a handful of pellets between them both in the morning and maybe 1 savoy cabbage lead each at night and loads of hay and grass all day

Supa excell pellets, i think it's made by Burgess's. :)

I also got hays with yummy bits in - with dried dandelions, or dried rose petals, they'r more expensive, but they do eat more of it :).

Main advice deffo would b cut back on the pellets and veg and see if eats more hay, I was worried I'd starve them! But it really has made a difference to the amount of hay they eat, and so the size and amount of their poo's:)
