National microchipping month

Muppet2

Alpha Buck
It's now apparently.

Microchipping comes up a few times on here - I know some people think it's unnecessary for (house)rabbits but there are some people who are interested so I thought I'd post the information anyway. (I take the view that any chance of getting my pet back is a good thing. And rabbits can escape or be let out so never say never!)

It's hosted by The Kennel Club so these links are very dog oriented but some of the providers are vets and the RSPCA etc so presumably do other animals.

Use this link:
http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/cgi-bin/item.cgi?id=1064&d=252&h=253&f=0

Scroll to the bottom right for 'Search for microchipping events near you!' and then DO USE THE ADVANCED SEARCH as they recommend.

I believe any vet who is trained in microchipping can do it. It is always worth checking with your vet.

Yes, vets do it, same as they do for dogs and cats.

Muppet was chipped during his neutering op, so he didnt notice a thing ;)

Myself and my aunt are qualified Microchippers, so look around, you may be able to find someone that will come to you - no travelling stress and no consultation fee ;)

This is who we're trained with http://www.pet-detect.com/ if anyone is interesting in training, the course is only a day and rescues get special pricing on chips and scanners - so any rescues out there it may be worth considering?
