Anyone know if rabbits eat lavender?

Since it deters flies I was thinking of planting it around the rabbits sheds, but if they eat it there's no point!

My 2 weren't interested in the lavendar until they had eaten everything else:lol:

I'm sure I read somewhere that they couldn't eat it, but mine have been fine:shock:

Mine eat it in small amounts occassionally, as far as I know its safe. Can anyone confirm?

I think it is safe in small quantities.

If you feed/they eat too much I have heard it can cause fitting.

A friend of mine googled it when she got her rabbit and told me.

EDIT - Apologies, it's sage that can cause fits.

Lavendar is good for stressed bunnies and good to get rid of tummy gas.

just saw this on the beechgrove garden and the women said they never eat lavender as they don't like the smell she's obviously never met our buns is all i can say   although she was talking about wild buns

Mine tend to eat everything they can lay their paws on. It sounds like rabbits do like lavender so I'll go back to the citronella idea insted!!
Thanks for the advice - it's saved me a fortune in lavender!!!!:D :D
