Here goes. We had an amazing 1118 names entered on the original thread entered by well over a hundred owners. It got quite amusing in the end, "my best friend's aunt's milkman has a rabbit called...", well, it felt like that anyway! As Gandhi said, "Everthing that happens to you is your teacher", and I have learnt things about how people arrive at their chosen names. I think I'll do the same thing next January (it's a quieter month) and I'll make it clearer from the outset that bridge bunnies are welcome too. On a more sombre note, as the thread lasted over a month, naturally some rabbits will have passed away. It is not my intention to upset anyone but if a rabbit was entered it has been included.
Another point to raise is similarity in names. Where should I draw the line? For example we have put together Bert and Bertie, Ben and Benny, Dylan and Dillon. After a lot of discussion we also added Bob, Bobby and Boaby (the Scottish derivative of Bobby) and many others that may be argued as contentious.
I would like to thank Maria for giving up Saturday to do all sorts of technical things with your entries and CottonMather in advance for the offer of "statistical analysis". As i have no imagination with a computer I look forward to her submission with an open mind.
There were 462 single names which I haven't listed below, maybe later when my fingers have recovered. I shall start with entries of 2 and go up to the most popular...
