  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

What is the earliest age a bunny can get pregnant? i thought it was about 12 weeks?.My friend has a litter who she has kept together.the dad is now neuered but she put him back in with the others straight away :x now the babies are 16 weeks old and her vet has told her the does cant fall pregnant untill they are 25 weeks old? so she has another 8 weeks to get the other males done.I have told her this is not true but i am now doubting myself?

It is possible for a bun to become pregnant from about 10-12 weeks and very possible for the males to produce sperm from about the same age, she needs to seperate the males from the females immediatly!

Even if that was true, what about the mum? She can get pregnant again straight after giving birth and the fact their are her offspring doesn't mean they can't get her pregnant!

I know about dad being fertile for a few weeks after. She is one of those people who comes for advice but doesn't take it  .
