Newspaper as flooring!

Hi, What do you think is best?

I plain hutch or cage bottom with nothing on it just the rabbits
OR
The cage/hutch floor covered with newspaper and that canged every 2 days when cleaned out?

I use woodshavings and hay, they will eat the newpaper if it's not covered

My rabbits kick out everything and prefer the bare wood. If they are litter tray trainned I don't think you need anything except in the litter tray - especially in summer.

I use newspaper where they are likely to wee and also put a piece under litter trays to saok up any "misses"! Other parts of the hutch that are kept clean I don't bother with.
I do find that newspaper is helpful in the winter though as you can just roll up all the bedding and eveything and chuck it out - quick and easy!
