  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

What are you using on your bunnty for flea control?
I want something that really works. My bunny lives outside in a huge screened in area. No grass but flower beds and such. No bedding, she refuses to stay in a beautiful house and stays under the hose reel house  Whatchgonnado?

I need something fast! And I don't want to use a cheapy store bought powder that sucks.
Thanks!

Take your bunny to the vet and you will be given Advantage :D Its very important not to use any flea treatments for other animals without speaking to a vet first.

The ones you get from pet shops dont work anyway and Im sure I have read horrible stories about bunnies reacting badly to them.

Does your bunny actually have fleas? You shouldnt actually treat them with chemicals unless they already have fleas as it isnt good for them. I need to have mine protected against fleas all the time so I use Assisi grooming lotion once a week on them, you just brush it on and the bottle lasts ages :D Oh and it works :D I would use something natural like that if you are just trying to prevent fleas rather than treat them
