Willow Trees

CottonMather

I've noticed loads of Willow trees today - they are really obvious at the moment, as they have their foliage, where most other deciduous trees don't yet...
Anyway, just wanted to know if it's ok to give bits to the rabbits? are the leaves ok for them? and does anyone know if the anaesthetic properties of willow bark have any effects on rabbits?
Ta! :D

hi CottonMather

I don't know for certain that you are supposed to feed the leaves but ours love them. We have a tiny backyard and are growing a willow tree in a pot until we get a garden.

You can give them a few branches sometimes.
They would have to eat a lot of the bark to get an effect by the salicin - more they usually can eat.
