Digging + panicing bunny mummy

Ozzy'sMummy

Alpha Buck
Heya

Just this evening I have moved Ozzy onto the lawn and I am now panicing that he won't be there in the morning :?

It's the Loppy's Loft Hutch and Run from P@H and the run bottom is just open on the lawn.

Ozzy has never dug in his hutch (well not since he has had a run attached anyway) so am I panicing over nothing? :?

What do other people do to prevent their buns digging out?

Help!

It doesn't take long for a determined bunny to dig under the side of a run. Also you need to consider that a predator could dig under to get at Ozzie.
If you want to keep the run on grass, a mesh bottom is advisable. Alternatively put the run on paving slabs.
Our permanent run sits on concrete path edgings and has a mesh base covered with bark chippings. (See Troopers' piccie below)

I have an old fireguard I can put under it!!

I'll go and put that under and then my mind is at rest :D

Thanks so much for giving me the idea :D
