3 hours in the garden...

... as there was some nice weather last week I spent some time out in the garden (well my parents garden) with my camera... I took about 150 photos (many in the recycling bin already), but I though I would share these "better" ones with you...

No garden is complete without a robin...

The goldfinches are now really common in our garden, I've seen up to 8 at one time!

Well I'm just sharing them with you...

We have quite a few bird feeders in the garden: 4 sunflower; 2 peanut; 1 fat; 1 ground; 1 table; 1 niger (just for the goldfinches). Believe me we go through quite a few sunflower seeds!!

I have a Canon 20D and on this occasion was using a 300mm lens with a 1.4x converter. Was also covered with camo sheet

Aww I love the scruffy robin in the first pick. I havent seen one this year so was nice of you to share pics. Thanks
Tracy

Thanks every body for you kind comments:

Here are a couple more that I took (seems that the golfinches and robins were being the most obliging last week):

So one more goldfinch:

And a robin doing the "over the shoulder look"

Without meaning to self promote or advertise there are a few more on my website.

I'm no pro though, I have a "proper" daytime job... this is just something I fit in at the weekends.

very, very jealous;
1. because of the camera (i've got little brother canon eos 350d)
2. the fact that you have a garden (we have a back yard)
3. the pictures...they are brilliant!
I might be able to make you jealous back...I have a sigma 105mm macro 2.8

Well you shouldn't be too jealous, as back garden isn't actually mine, it is my parents. Just need to be patient with regards to the photos.

I'm lucky as my mum has a canon slr as well, so we are able to swop and share lenses (ok... I borrow hers, she rarely borrows mine - although the 300mm is mine but it's only the f4 not the f2.8).

My 70-200 L IS USM F/2.8 is my pride and joy... actually it is it's first aniversary shortly.... was a present from my mum, could never afford it myself.
