Sneezing

Dan

Young Bun
Hi all,

We have a 20week old bun who seems to be sneezing a lot and we cant figure it out.

A day after we got her she sneezed about 8 times in a row, then later that night again it happened. We immediatly got her to the ver who had a listen for a good while and said she sounds very well, clear breating, calm heart rate. no sign of anything. As her eyes were clear he said maybe alergies.

So we have been trying to see what it is, but with no luck, she has hypoalergenic bedding, tried her with hay, without hay, with wet hay, with different hay, tested her with the cage cleaner, with the food but she still sneezes. Even when shes out the cage and running free.

Her eyes are clear although when she has a sneezing fit there is some mucas and her paws are slighly matted. Dont know if thats a sign of the sniffles or just natural for sneezing.

Shes been in contact with our other bun and its been over a week and hes not showing any sign of snuffles.

Is it just an alergy? Or is the vet missing something?

Thanks

Have you tried to treat her with anything yet? I would immediatley think snuffles-Is it worth treating her just incase?

If it is snuffles then your other bun may not develope syptoms at all - or it could appear some time in the future. It sound like it could be that so I would go back and ask for het to be looked at again. Is your vet rabbit savvy?

There normally ok, its companion care in Dunstable. They always seem to know buns quite well.

ooh thats how mine started out, now i have 3 at it! :( It is possible that it could be an allergy though my bunny was sneezing for about a month before the others caught it!

If you could list what products/bedding/hay you use it would help.
