Should I get him neutered???

New Kit
Hi there,

I recently built a massive hutch and run to provide space for me to get my existing bunny a friend.

She's 3 years old and been spayed. I got her a young boyfriend yesterday and, touch wood, I think they will get along fine.

Should I get him neutered, or will his randy behavior calm down? Do you think it will cause fights if he won't leave her alone?

I've just had them together in the hallway, and he spend most of the time trying to hump her, and she didn't really care. Even when he had the wrong end!!

Any advice would be appreciated :) Thanks

Yes id say you will need to get him neutered or they may fall out cos he will keep on pestering her for hump-age

Yes get him neutered. If he pesters her too much there might be a fight and you'll have injured bunnies. It can't be very nice for him to be frustrated all the while either!

how old is he? You may have to wait a bit longer as its recommended that males are done from 5 months

Males can be done as soon as their 'family jewels' are down :D

That can be from about 12 weeks.

As soon as his "bits" have descended he can be neutered. I'd say this was essential because he is very liable to hump and chase (even nip and spray) her if he is unneutered. This behaviour is very unlikely to calm down as he gets older, he will always have those hormones unless he's neutered. He will be happier and calmer in himself once he's been neutered, too.

Good luck!

Yeah, he's just over 5 months, so he'll be fine. They just had another play session indoors together and I'm so glad she's ok with him. I was fully expecting her to hate him!!

As everyone else has said ,, yep get him done :D

and Fayeloicoa...we are not too far from you and have lots of lovely does ready for a boyfriend! :D
