How can you tell how old they are?

In reference to the age post.

I have a new/fostered bunny at the moment, how can i tell how old he is? :shock:
 
The vet gave me an idea of age by his teeth..
I was told my bun was between 2 1/2 & 3 years of age..
I thought he was around 2 but she said he was older than that.
 
I took it to my vet and all she saifd was his teetch were a little worn and he's definatley older that 6 - 9 months but couldn't say how much older: 1,2,3,4.....
