Ear Problem

Hi all,

While stroking Malcolms ears tonight I noticed that he has developed a bald patch at the base of each ear (underside) about the size of a 10p coin.

The skin looks a bit flakey and sore so I was just wondering if anyone knows what might have caused this and how I can treat it?

Typically it's a weekend and I'm working most of next week so getting to the vets is going to be tricky.

Thanks,

Damien

I second the aloe vera suggestion, or Savlon works well too. If it spreads or gets worse, I'd get him to a vet. It could just be that he's scratched his ears too hard or over-groomed them for some reason, but obviously it'd be best to get him checked out.

Hope he's okay! :)

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to the supermarket for a chicken now so I'll pick up some savlon. I'm concerned that it might be ear mites as the patch under his right ear looks sore and the skin is broken so I'll try and get him to the vet on Tuesday.

Thanks again.

Damien
