  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I've let Fudge this morning in his run.. I hope I've done the right thing :? I kept him in last night it he relaxed on his vet bed & heatpad..
As I went to see him this morning he ran out in his enclosure(bless him)
Do you think i've done the right thing ?
He's had a few poos not loads but some, he's had something to eat aswell not a huge amount but some..

is the grass wet? If so I probably wouldnt let him out as it could cause problems with the incision site.

Also running around vigorously might not be a good idea :?
Perhaps you could just shut him in the playhouse? See what other people say.

If he's anything like my rabbits he won't be running around exercising, mine just snooze the day away, so hopefully he'll be ok.

He came outside for a 5 mins or so then went back to his heatpad..
I've just gone & bought one from the pet shop so hes now got 2 heatpads under his tum :D
The one is only borrowed though so I was always going to need one.

I would aim to keep him warm and rested today. You dont want to let him get too cool after being in the warm at the moment, otherwise he may drop his blood pressure. If he is in a shed out of the direct cold he should be fine. Just keep and eye on the intake and output :D

Thanks, I'll keep him inside now nice & warm... He seems a happy bunny since he's come home he's letting me stroke him more :) I'm sure it's because he doesn't feel great though & can't be bothered to move away from me..
He's eating apple,pear cabbage leaves :D ..
