Young Bun
Phew, am I a relieved bunny mum or what! :D

We have finally got our full of beans confident bunny back. After all the concerns that after his dental, which we were putting down to his not eating/pooping/depression etc, I have found the real reason.

After scrolling through pages of bunny info on the net, and in several books, I came across a particular ailment which sounded exactly like his sypmtoms.... stopped eating or very selective eating, not drinking, not pooping and very lethargic..... fur balls!

This kept ringing true, but as he has just had his teeth done, the vets and myself were concetrating the problem on his mouth, and not a possible secondary problem. Anyway, last night, I was stroking and fussing Willowpops, and when he moved a little in his poop tray, I saw a couple of droppings, not very healthy looking, but all the same, more than he had done in about a week. When I carried him into the kitchen for a fuss, he sat on the mat, and after more fussing, I saw a few more poops.... when I moved him, there were loads, and in particular on long oval one. When I broke it up, there was lots of hair, which had formed a thick matting in his poop. After that, he started playing, and hopping around. I put him in his cage, and he ate everything in sight!!! Looks like is had caused a block, probably from when he had stopped eating before he had his teeth burred, and his gut had not enable him to clear it out.

This morning, he has not stopped eating, and at this moment is running around the garnen, kicking and twisting in delight with the cat, and refusing to come in!!

I am sooooooo relieved, and am going to talk to my vet, who will hopefully see this as a possible problem in other bunnies along with dental trouble. The fibreplex, mushy pellets and gut stimulants helped to get his gut working to get it out I'm sure.

My willowpops is back, and showing the world (well, the birds and cat in the garden!) that he is back being boss of his patch!!!

Liz & a healthy happy willow!
