I have two 4 year old rabbits (had them since last summer). They have always eaten Russell Rabbit Leek and Carrot mix and really enjoyed it (alongside lots of hay and veg). However Rolo started to suffer from a sticky bottom a few weeks ago and every time i have stopped it by reducing the veg for a day, giving dry bread etc. But it has become worse recently and I started to think maybe it was because her boyfriend Ozzie is a cheeky boy who eats everything and therefore was snuffling all the nice bits in the food before she got there.
So... I have bought a pellet food (Excel - it has increased fibre now - 16%) and as soon as I tried them on a small handful - they wolfed it down. I have never seem them eat so fast. Today there was a dramatic change in the poos - nice and hayey and round and fat. And dry.
So i am going to continue introducing the pellets over the next week or so and gradually give them veg again. Hopefully we have solved the problem!
