I phoned up my local vet who said i needed to be vegisterd(sp?) with them but it was done over the phone in a couple of minutes and an appointment booked for tomorow. I'm not sure about other vets though. It would be a good idea to phone participating vets up and ask.
I have to admit being registered with a couple of vets but they are aware of each other. For everyday stuff like vaccinations I go to my local place but for anything major I go to the specialists who are further away but I know once I get there the treatment will be spot on without dithering from rabbit inexperienced vets.
Where I used to live the rabbits and dogs had seperate vets and in fact I moved the dogs' vet as the first place I tried had rubbish bedside manner with them.
Here they all see the same local place for routine stuff but when Cosmos got ill I went straight to the specialists (did inform my current vet first though who offered to fax over what records they had but seen as I had just moved and they had only seen Cosmos twice for vaccination there wasn't much to tell).
Technically it is the pet that needs to be registered with only one vet and not the owner as it is professionally bad for one vet to treat another vet's patient without informing them this is for the pets protection as the vet treating needs to have access to the medical history, which is no use to them if it is stored at a seperate vets!
