  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Something's wrong.....Stroke/Fit??

Gem

Wise Old Thumper
Magic's just come in from the garden, with a bloody nose :?

It looks like he's been bitten and one of his lesions has been taken off :? :(

Anyway he's behaving really strangely, he's all hunched up, but he's moving his head a like a mechanical puppet...the strange sort of clicking movement.

Its really weird, its like he's scanning but with his eyes closed. He seems to be 'out of it' but then he seems to come too :?

Sound anything like a stroke or a fit?

I'm waiting on the vet to call back as to whether I need to rush him up there :(

Don't wait for the vet to ring. Take him straight up there as it's best if the vet can actually see what's happening when it's happening. If you wait till he seems a bit better it might be difficult for you to accurately describe his behaviour. Fingers crossed!

Sorry Gem. I just scrolled further down and read your other post. Now I realise why you had contacted the vet first! Crossing everything for you now!

We went to the vet

Vet won't classify it as a fit but says he had a 'loss of consiousness' :?

He had an injection too but can't remember what it was

Got too keep a eye on him overnight and ring or take him in if anything changes

He's still not with it bless him :(
