  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned....

.... But I've not been here for a while!!?? - Just did a search, and could find nothing.

Anyways, whilst at my vets tonight I saw a new bunny leaflet:

"Pancur Rabbit"

"You love your rabbit
You're not the only one
Worms and Parasites love him too"

It then goes on to say that "Pancur Rabbit has been developed to provide a single answer to the problem of worms and parasites such as E.cuniculi ...... By giving Pancur Rabbit regularly, you can have peace of mind that you are giving your rabbit the best possible protection available"

"Pancur Rabbit should be given 2-4 times a year and at high risk periods such as when you first acquire your rabbit, prior to mating and when mixing with other rabbits"

There's more to it, but that's the general gist.

I'm now confused - this leaflet is dated December 2006, so I know it's brand new. But does this mean I should be "worming" my rabbits twice a year now regardless????

I didn't spot it until after I've seen my vet, so I shall ask her next week instead, but has anyone else been introduced to this yet?????? :?

Hi there. This is up in my vet too. I'm sure someone posted about it recently. Can't find it either though. I am so sure the thread was called "Panacur Rabbit"

I'm going to have a chat with my vet about this as I have several buns living together but if you do want to get hold of rabbit panacur, some of the vets are doing it half price for the rabbit week next week so would be a good time to get hold of supplies.
