Wise Old Thumper
What a day for poor buns
I went to a house whose owner had rung me a few days ago asking me to take 22 rabbits  He got 2 boys from PAh and guess what? they had babies!! ..and then more babies.....and then more..then he rang me.....
I got there and could not belive me eyes..his lounge stank of rabbit urine..he had a double decker hutch in it with 2 does in the top bit with a litter of 6 two week old kits..(there had been 9 but 3 died) and 5 more in the bottom ..
he had put wire round the legs of the hutch..about 9 inches high and 2 bucks were living in there.....2 more bucks were in a small cardboard box with some plastic on the top....2 more bucks were in a bread tray with plastic on top and one buck was in an old sideboard..he was the lucky one as had some space..
the carpet was soaked with urine and there was droppings and old sawdust all over the place...
The bucks all have injuries to their ears where they have been fighting and all the bunnies were sticky as soaked with urine..some have eye infections..
I had agreed to take only 6 as I am full...I have come home with 6... but am going back on Sunday to pick up ALL the others..as yet I don't know where I'll put them but I'll work something out..
this little chap is 9 months old and is matted and stinks and has sticky eyes..he seems the gentlest of all of them but is also thin so maybe just no energy. the pics do not shoe you the lumps of stinking matts under his eyes and chin and all round his genitals Edited to add this boy is now named Drew
and a pic of his matted rear
this is his Dad, now named Dudley, about 1 year old..he has a runny eye...his chin is weet and matted underneath and his mouth has been bleeding where he has been trying to get out of the carboard box..you can see his tatty ears where another buck has been attacking him when they were all let out together!
and these 2 are sisters about 9 months old..the harlequin now named Grace and the white and caramel now named Cally
enjoying some good food and a clean hutch
I have 2 other single males..they were together but due to their obvious injuries I have seperated them..pics tomorrow...
a couple of other things have happened today to add to this but can't discuss on here...just feel like
Will get all this extended family fit and well and then will be looking for a lot of very patient homes for them...none of them have had any handling apart from being grabbed by their scruffs
