Short of indoor housing ideas?

Ah I've seen that site before. It does look very complex but im not sure I like the tall one, I'd be too worryied about buns falling and injuring themselves.

I don't like the tall one, they have no space to run about and rabbits are underground animals that run in fields, not animals that climb and live in trees or something :?

my rabbits like tpo be high up (they always sit on my piled-up suitcases in the attic) but I reckon the first one is just plain dangerous!!! Buns need more floorspace as well and the footprint for that thing is weeny even for one !

Kathryn (kayjay)'s indoor guinea pig pen is made from those cubes and is fab for the pigs but I only just put on her 'duh!' thread that they are a bit narrow for rabbits (carpet fitter thought her piggers were rabbits). Poor things perched right up there, not a lot to do is there?!

I love those storage cubes. That is what my Bun has but it isn't high at all. I just sat down with a load of cable ties and cubes and made what fitted the space. Wasn' hard at all. Mine is 6ft by 4 ft with another two big levels on top.

Where do you get the cubes from? I looked on Argos and they don't seem to do them anymore. Can you get anything similar?

I love grid cages, but those aren't very good examples. They're very popular with Americans and Canadians on another forum I'm on, and the minimum size for small rabbit is 2 grids wide, 3 grids long, 2 grids tall, usually with at least a decent sized second story with room for hopping and toys. Each grid is about 14 inches, so that's 28" x 42" x 28".

It really is a pity that the grids are so hard to find in the UK. They make fabulous indoor cages! Plus they're cheap and easy to build. My buns are currently living in large pens made with them, and I was able to make a 4x5 grid pen for an emergency foster in about 1 hour!

Here's some more, better examples:
This link has rabbit cages as well as some other animals.

Ive got loads of those cubes- they are really useful :thumb:

I use them to extend Audrey's area whilst I am out and in the summer house to section off an area for my fosters.

B&Q near to me (Wigston, Leicester) have some cube packs in. 24 grids with 28 connectors for £19.99. If anyone needs some I can go back to get some more but you would need to be able to get them from me.

I have just had a look on the box they are distributed by a company in Birmingham. If anyone is interested their details are : Slemcka DMS Ltd, 19 Anne Road, Smethwick, Birmingham. They also give a freephone no. 0800 028 1739
