  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hello all, anyone use these PHA Pet Insurance just wondering because the excess is £45 instead of £60 with Petplan. If their just as good I might choose them, any recommendations??!! :)
Cheers in advance :bunny:

Have a look at the small print on what they'll cover. For example you have to watch teeth problems in bunnies and they can get left out.

Thanks for answering so fast! Just checked policy on-line and it says The cost of any treatment i.e. cosmetic dentistry that you choose to have carried out that is not directly related to an injury, illness or disease. and teeth trimming so pretty standard I think, the same as Petplan. But I'd like to know if anyone is with them and would they recommend them, or else I'll probably go with good old Petplan. I just want good cover at a reasonable premium and excess. (Damn the excessess!!!!) And PHA's excess was cheaper than Petplan, not sure if this is good or not??!! :?
HELP!! :) :)

Excess is the part of the bill you pay before they pay the rest. So if you have a bill for £100 and your excess is £35, you pay £25 and they pay £75. If the bill is below £25 you pay it all. So lower the excess the better.
