  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I think Scarlett just sneezed! Is she ill?

Well, It sounded like she did. I didnt see because she was under the table but there is no tv or anything on and only me and her in the room

She looks ok, her nose and eyes look fine to me. Do bunnies sneeze? I have never heard the other two make that noise before. Sorry if im panicking but I dont know if this is a sign of a serious illness or anything! :?

Bunnies do sneeze and it is not always cos they are ill.
As long as Scarlet does not have a discharge from her nostrils (check the inside of her front paws for stickiness too as Bunnies wipe their noses) and she does not keep sneezing I am sure she just got a bit of dust up her nose.

Thanks Jane

Just checked her front paws and no stickiness there so hopefullu it was just a bit of dust. I will keep an eye on her though :D

When Dougal sneezed twice in a row I was nearly off to the vets with him   But yes rabbits do sneeze just like cats and dogs. It's only a problem when they sneeze all the time abd have discharge just like what Jane said.

Sometimes I'm guilty of being paranoid about my animals.
