Real xmas trees

Can someone just clarify for me whether or not pine xmas trees are harmful if chewed by a bun? I thought they were, but someone else told me they didn't think it would hurt. :? Its not a problem for me as I have a fake tree anyway :lol:

I belive pine needles are poisonous so best avoided!

Also when they fall (the needles) can be trodden on by little paws. My mum trod on a pine needle one year and it got infected and was very painful for quite a while. :shock:

You can get different trees now with needles that are rounded and spongy and don't stick in paws and feet
