Feeding Young Rabbits

Hi Folks,

The Flemish Giant free-add boy I’m fostering is 12 weeks old. Should he be on ad-lib pellets and if so how long for? I’ve little experience with very young rabbits. Thank-fully he appears to be a good hay eater.

Thanks Jane. :thumb:

Think he could do with it anyway as he is on the skinny side. Will try and get some snaps this evening.

Louise if he's a bit skinny and a growing lad give him some porridge oats now and again too ..won't do him any harm and will help him gain his weight.
And piccies?! :D

I've been doing this with my French Lop X - but now her boyfriend (NZ White) is a fatty

On that point, since my two are still on free choice for pellets at the moment, when and how should I start to reduce the amount of pellets I give them? They are 5 months old now. :D

Will sprinkle some Oats on his tea. :thumb: He doesn’t appear to be a big pellet eater. Might invest in a sack of the Allen and Page Breeder Grower Pellets.

I've posted some snaps in the photo section of RU.
