  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

hello everyone.before i went to bed last night i noticed that lola seemed a bit off colour.my husband thought i was being over cautious but you know your own bunnies don't you.anyway,i hadn't really seen much of her as she had been sat upstairs but she seemed a bit quiet.so,i took her down stairs and offered her some treats which she refused(most out of character!!!)i sat with her for an hour or so but she just sat hudled up.lets just say i had a restless night.however when i came back down this morning she came bounding up,as cheeky as ever!i am so relieved, but the only thing i can think is that im a chef and often bring home brocolli stems and yesterday i also brought a bag of parsley(mainly the stems)i had never given her it before-could it have been that?the other 3 were all fine.thankyou.
p.s i have not been on for a while cause we have finally moved house!but i read rainbow bridge,my thoughts are with all of you who have lost a bun or have a poorly one.

Glad to hear Lola is better :D
Brocolli is often the cause of a Buns gassy tummy. I have one Bunny who cant have even one sprig of Parsley as it makes her very poorly :( The others are all fine with it though. Sounds like Brocolli and Parsley are a 'no-no' for Lola!!
