Hutch construction

Does different thicknesses of plywood make a difference to the waterproofness (sp????) of a hutch? :?: When I had a plywood hutch, I painted it with an alleged waterproof paint but it had no effect and still got wet inside  My buns are now in proper wooden hutches as opposed to plywood. I have noticed a few plywood hutches promoted on here - does the thickness of the plywood have any relevance or are they all going to suffer and get wet? :?:

Thickness will have some effect - the thicker the better. also you can get marine plywood which is more waterproof. The design of the hutch also plays a part, and over hanging roof will keep the hutch dryer as will having legs and a slope roof. Plywood is more prone to getting damp/warping tho I think.
