  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I am so so upset having just read this item about cruelty to dogs and cats by Iams. There is a video on there, please be warned that this is very upsetting.

http://www.iamscruelty.com/

I will never ever buy any of their products again. I have been regularly using their dried food for my two cats.

Please lets all boycott.

Havent watched the video yet, Ill end up with nightmares, but tht is jst awful. Dont have cats or dogs so dont use it anyway, but I work for a big well known supermarket chain and I feel like ripping all their stuff off the shelves when I go in 2moro

This piece of news has been around for years. It refers to the perscription diets not the foood you by in pet shops.

All perscription food have to be tested. This includes hills, royal canin and waltham.

Sad it is. It made me really angry when I first watched it, and as a result I band it from my shelfs, but also customers wont buy it cos of the bad press Iams has.

I am sorry, I did not realise this was old news when I posted it. I suppose though it can't do any harm to bring it to the attention of those like myself who didn't know anything about it.

It's better that everyone knows, so it can be highlighted and people can be aware of what these companys do. Also it makes us better informed of what we buy. You were quite right in posting it. I thought you thought it was a reacent thing. I'm sorry if I gave you that impression.

Saw it ages ago and have never touched Iams...my friend still feeds her cats Iams after seieng it :( But thats cos her cats wont eat anything else :?
