Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Tinkerbell and Simba neutered

Hi, just wanted to tell you all that my two babies were neutered yesterday and are doing really well. They started to eat and poo soon after they came out of recovery and were very alert when I went to pick them up. These are the second bonded pair that I have had neutered (both male and female) and I just wanted to reassure anyone who was worried about getting their own bunnies done. I would like to put in a plug about my vet somewhere if possible because they really are fantastic. Suexx

Thats great news. Its such a relief when they are fine isn't it? Are you keeping them indoors for a while. What part of the country are you based as its always good to know of a good vet

I am near Portsmouth in Hampshire and the veterinary practice I have been using for 20yrs now is Animed. They have a wonderful new hospital near Southampton and several small branches in the local area. I cannot praise them enough for the kind and dedicated treatment they have provided to our cats and rabbits over the years and their fees are quite competitive with other local vets too. I hope it is ok for me to plug them like this here.

Glad that they are doing well!

I've got a Simba and a Tinkerbell bonded pair as well! Simba is a black lionhead and Tinkerbell is a Nethie.

Awww, thats nice. Mine are brother and sister and Netherland crosses. My young daughter insists on calling Tinkerbell Princess Tinkerbell Twinkletoes......I wouldn't mind but she told the Vet and now she has changed her records lol  . It was quite embarrassing when I had to pick them up the day they were neutered!!!
