Rolled Oats??

Are they ok to give to rabbits?? Bracken has put on weight but still on the lean side, wondering about giving him a spoonful daily???

Yep, I mix them with water first though so they don't swell in the tummy.

I heard of a lot of people feed buns oats. Is it only given when ill or underwieght. Can i be given daily or a a treat?

They're very fattening so shouldn't be used as a treat

Being rolled, they are particularly refined and rabbits' digestive systems are not designed to cope with such good quality grub so whilst they are a good idea to help with weight increase, they should be used only quite sparingly and subsequently you should keep an eye on your rabbit's poo to make sure it doesn't get runny and make sure the caecotrophs are being eaten.

They are Evo's favourite food in the whole wide world! :lol: He does have them as a treat, but litterally on 4 flakes at a time.
