Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

can anyone give a rough guestimate at what temperature my room (the buns room) should be kept at? im sure i read somewhere between 12-18C but at 18 im still shivering! i would go by a when im warm they should be ok rule but my internal thermostat is broken and i often feel very cold in very hot temp and vice versa (when i went to the eden project in the tropical section - where they have special exits, water fountains and air con'd rooms - i was wearing a trousers, a t-shirt a jumper and a 3/4 length coat  ) any help would be appreciated thanks :D i do worry about them getting cold/hot they have a carrier of thick straw + hay (although the hay doesnt last long   ) in case they get cold and their sand box and my laminate floor in case they get hot. any temp guidline would be appreciated

Are your buns indoors all the time? If so, I think it's less important what temperature your house is, as they will just moult to a thinner coat if you have it warmer. They can get too hot if you have it really cranked up but I'd have thought 18-20 degrees would be fine for them, so long as you don't then put them outside.

my buns are indoors all the time (whenever it rains i always say i could never put them out) but they might go out in the summer which obviously wont matter.
thats ok then they both have quite thin coats, teegras is very thin, duchess's was quite thick when i got her as she had just moulted her summer coat but she has had another huge moult since being here and now has a thinner coat
ok thanks for that

Alison, what if the room the rabbit stay almost 24 hr. is around 19 C, but on occasion (about 5 minutes), the rabbit "escape" to downstair which is at 9 - 10 C?
