Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Dougal's front teeth

Mama Doe
Just been out to visit my babys.
And I was doing their health checks.
I noticed Dougals front teeth are getting overgrown (not much mabey 1/2mm).
But it is strange looking, I'll try and explain.
Two top teeth lok like fangs.
Left tooth it's the left part longer then the other side.
Right tooth it's the left part that is longer then the other side.
Does that make sense?

Best to get him to the vet. They may just need to be filed back to normal shape. But there is the possability that this is the start of a never ending problem. If they continue to grow the wrong shape it may well cost less to have them removed as once you start to trim them they will grow quicker. As weel as the cost you may have to have your rabbit put under every time to have them filed and this can happen every couple of months or less. Best of luck, hope its not as bad as that. val

I'm going out to get him and take a piccy. Back in a mo.

Ok hope you can see.

Best let Mr. Charity see what he thinks about them. Is he munching his Oxbow pellets ok.

He's just being a vampire for Hallow'een with his fangs I think!

Wee monkey. He is fine I only noticed it this evening. They are not overgrown much. only by 1/2 mm.

Hi Nicole! That's a clear picture, god maybe I'm terrible but I don't even know how to tell if front teeth are ok. You are brave and Dougal is a star if you can do that to them, long enough for a photo! My gang would definitely not be happy with me and would possible nip. Hmmm. I'd put your mind at ease by asking vet. Is he eating ok?

Yes he eats fine, grooms, eats soft poop, drinks and nips Mhairi out the road.
I'll speak to Mr Charity on Monday just needs a wee tiny trim.
He's a wee star sat like that for 2-3 mins while I took the photo.
