The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Lump on tummy

Hello

Been awol for a few months due to a new job where I'm not allowed to come online (the cheek of it!). Anyway, coming creeping back tonight because my old bunny Hope has got a lump on her tummy.

I noticed it when I picked her up to put her to bed last night. I pick her up at least twice every day, but somehow hadn't noticed it before.

The lump is right in the middle of her lower belly and is about the size of a very large grape. The skin isn't broken, she doesn't react when I touch the lump, it doesn't look sore. The lump doesn't seem to be attached to the skin, but rather to tissue underneath the skin - if that makes sense.

I am taking her to see the vet on Friday, but I just wondered whether anyone could offer any advice. She's nine years old and has arthritis in her back legs. But she moves around quite a bit and seems as hungry for food and nose rubs as ever.

I have a feeling the vet will say just to leave the lump if it isn't bothering her. Does it sound like cancer? Poor old bun's been through so much in the last year ... loosing her friend Miffy, going on hunger strike, the arthritis and now this :( .

Thanks in advance.

Is Hope spayed?
Is the lump near her nipples?
A mammary tumour is a possibility. But these are not always malignant and if it is not bothering her I think leaving it alone might be the best option.
