Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Oh God Bunny looks poorly? Not sure what?

I have just gone down to tuck Bunny up for the night. She was very lethargic. I stroked her and she stayed laying down with her head on her paws. I picked her up and she was the same. We then got some spinach and she had some of that. ThenI offered her some water which she drank really fast. I looked in the hutch and the bottle was empty. I filled it yesterday and we think it has a leak? Her and her partner both then drank for England.

I also noticed that her ears were laying flat to the body and seem to be bothering her. I put some ear drops in and have tucked her in for the night (she is indoor anyway), but have brought her in from the conservatory to the living room. She has had some baby food too but is still just lying dwn. Never seen this before. Am really stressed. I can't face losing another one?

Sorry, I can't suggest anything. Is she warm enough?
Hope she feels better soon.

Lots of healing vibes please. She was a little cool but she is well in the warm now. The door is always open to the whole of the downstairs and I thiught I hadn't seen much of her today. But I have been in and out so didn't think anything of it til I went to get her ready for night nights.

Thanks Sue and HS x

Awww, could she be feeling lethargic from not getting enough water..? She might be better once she has had some more to drink. She is eating though which is good :D

Sending healing vibes xxxx

Thanks Loopylop. I feel so awful. How could I have missed that. I really hope she is back to her naughty self tomorrow.

Awww, dont worry, might be worth leaving a bowl out too incase she is really thirsty, might be easier than the bottle.

Just popped a bowl of water in. She looked slightly brighter and was cleaning her back foot. Her hutch mate Flopsy was sat with her cleaning her and fussing over her lol! She loves that.
