Was just wonderin' what people are feeding thier buns. Wanted to know what is popular with the buns as i have to change my buns feed over very soon.

mine get excel, although only a small handful and they dont seem to have any problems. one of them had excess cacels a few weeks ago but i think that was due to too much veg not the pellets

burgess excel here - i dont tend to switch chocs food about as she has a funny tummy and if i start changing she gets trapped wind............parp.

i think jane mentioned once about rex's having sensitive stomachs which i think is v true.

I answered Science Selective, but I've only just swopped, in reality i'm on 75% SS and 25% Excel, final stage of change over almost finished. They eat both eagerly, not sure I can tell if they have a preference!

I use excel as Deej has had it all his life (and loves it). He's a very good hay and veg eater, and as it is easily available here, I decided there was no need (at the moment) to change to a better brand. :D

I originally swapped from burgess onto SS, then started to swap onto A&P. But I noticed that Santa's snuffles seemed to get worse on A&P so I've swapped back again, and she's much better! As if to confirm my findings, I fed her some SS out of a tub where it had been mixed with A&P and she started sneezing again, so it seems as if she may be allergic to one of the ingredients :?

So, in conclusion, I feed Science selective

I am liking your scientific approach, Alison. :) Sometimes I feel like I spend my entire time trying things and ruling things out with the animals.

Science Selective.

I used to feed Excel. Dunno why I changed... coz SS is higher in fibre, and cheaper. Harder to get though, but I have a Jolleyes down the road that sells it.

Mine gets Excel at the moment, but I have ordered SS and will try to change him over to that. Eve feeds her bunnies SS and recommends it, and as I am planning to adopt one of her girls, I thought I'd do the food change over before she arrives. Also, I don't like the smell of Excel very much.

Oo that's interesting because since mine have been trying the A&P the last couple of days, Coffee, my snuffly bun, has sneezed q few times, which she hasn't done lately.. I'll keep an eye on that.

I feed my own buns A & P..but for the rescues I keep in A & P and Excell and SS..this is because some come in needing to be built up, so see which they take to..also some adopters can't get hold of a particular feed easily so can swap the bun onto the one they use before the leave me..

Just hay and vegies. Its what my vet, who specialises in rabbits, reccomends.

They are healthy and apparantly the 'perfect weight' :D :D

My buns get a tablespoon each of excel daily, which they wolf down as if they're never going to get fed again

When I bought them from the breeder they were on a dry mix, but only used to eat the interesting bits, and my vet swears by excel.

The buns weren't impressed at first, but now they adore it x

I'm thinking about switching to SS, but the pet shop where I live doesn't sell it! I keep meaning to see if they have in Pets at Home, but never seem to want to go in...!

They don't sell SS in PAH. You can get it online at Bunny Basics though. :) Also do you have a Wyvevales near you? I've seen it in there.
