Picking up and checking healing after spay?

Azraelm

Audrey is being spayed tuesday, and as she hates being picked up so much im a bit worried how im going to check she hasnt been chewing her stitches and that its healing ok.

She'll have a check up 3 days post op anyway, but just a bit worried in case there is something wrong in the meantime.

She really will not tolerate being picked up at all- she goes mad grunting, lunging, biting, kicking. And as shes quite big and heavy it makes it harder- I dont want her to split the stitches because I pick her up and she struggles so much, but at the same time it'll need checking.

Any advice please.

Mine kept standing up on their back legs, so it was easy to get a quick look that way, even when I wasn't picking them up.

thanks both of you, will do that, she's a greedy madam so should be able to get her to stand up.
