  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Are they not moulting right???

Im a little worried about Honey and Harly - Ive read other posts on here, people saying their buns are moulting and it's coming out in clumps, or they're looking scruffy, but H & H are not losing anything like that - are they not growing their winter coat properly?? :?

They are losing hair, but not loads like that, if Ive been cuddlin them Ive hair on my top, or if I stroke them I see hair coming out - but that's it. I stopped taking them in2 the house in the evening about 3 weeks ago after reading that doing ths in cold weather stops their winter coat growing, so it's not tht.

The only change I've really notcied is that their guard hairs seem more noticable at their rear end, down near Harly's bum espesh it looks as if he's goin grey

All mine moult in different ways. Salt and Pepper (nethies) have been shedding clumps of hair for days now. Bobby (lop) just seems to have clumps around his bottom area, and Ruby (belgian hare X) you can barely tell that she's moulting.
I'm sure they'll be absolutely fine.
