  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

hey all i have had a few doubt thats thumper is a boy and i had a look the other day but am not really sure what am looking for ?? could any one shows me a pic of what each sex looks like or where i can find pics?? tc luv becks xx

Hiya! How old is Thumper? If he is a boy, once he is mature, his testicles will look a bit like the picture in this thread here:

http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=21239

They are usually furless and the boys can hoik the actual testicles back up into their body if they want to so it may look like a little shrivelled sack - but in any case - bits of skin like in that photo means he's definitely a boy  When they're younger it's harder to tell, I can't quite describe how to check.

hey alison thanks for repling i cant remember seeing anything like in the pic?? and now looking at a few pics online i think thumper might be a girl ?? thumper is 9 nearly 10 months. i have made appointment with the vets which i have to cancel but i will be going sometime this week and i have asked them to check him/her for me.
