  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

hi, need some advice.

our babies are now mobile , i just went out to find one had gone from the top hutch down into the run, it either fell oe walked down the ramp which is quite long and steep.

we had planned to have a move around and put the family into a larger hutch and run which is now ready.

we plan to move them all tomorrow, they will be 2 weeks old.

my question is what risks will be be taking and do you think it is safe to move them all now?

they are all fine fat, clean and healthy baby bunnies eyes open and full coats and now very mobile :)

Can you not block over the hole with a board for now so they can only use the top hutch, or put some kind of wooden blocks around the hole so that mother can get over but the babies are less likely to climb over it?

to avoid accident as their feet is tiny, I would just move them on the ground floor somehow and make them stay at the ground floor so there is no chance of stairwell type accident
