**** If a mod could move this into the right place on the forum, I'd be most grateful. Thanks.****
I am putting out feelers for a very very special home for my beautiful, most loving bonded family of dwarf lop buns.
They are well known on this site…as I have been most proud of them, and talk about them alllll the time, and frequently post pics of them. However, for those of you who don’t know about them, he’s alittle of their history….
I originally started with Albert and Ellen….two pure-bred, and stunning seal point dwarf lops…who came to live with me at the age of 10 weeks old.
They were bred by a good friend of mine (one of those genuine BRC breeders), and I followed their progress from when they were born, with visits, and frequent pics of them growing up!
A few months after they’d come to live with me, I went away on hol with my mum….living my babies in the hands of my younger brother. Albert and Ellen had been living together previously….until Albert matured, and was neutered.
Two weeks after Albert was neutered, he was accidently put into the same run as Ellen….my brother knowing Albert was neutered thought it would be ok….and as I wasn’t there to say otherwise. It was while I was away and I received an ‘update’ phone call from him, that I found out….eeeek!
I arrived back home, and 4 weeks later….Ellen produced a litter of 3 babies. My initial reaction was to be gutted…mortified….and absolutely upset. It was my fault. I shouldn’t have left my babies. These feelings weren’t the best feelings to have at the arrival of new life into the world…but I didn’t want to breed. I didn’t want babies!
My feelings soon quickly changed however, as I watched the beauty of the 3 babies grow, and be carefully loved and cared for by mum Ellen. It was from that moment, that I decided to keep the whole family.
Within the litter, there was a REW, a Siamese smoke pearl and a seal point! (just like mum and dad!).
When the babies were 4 weeks old…I decided to take the step to introduce ‘dad’ Albert back into the group. As soon as he was put into the pen, he began cleaning and sitting with his babies. I cried with joy!!
I decided to name the 3 babies…who turned out to be 2 boys and a girl….Juley, George and Ruby.
As Juley and George matured, I had to take them out of the family grouping…I didn’t want any more babies!! Juley and George went to live on their own until it was time for them to visit the vets! 6 weeks after their visit, they were bonded back into the group, to become one happy family! Ellen was a bit unsure at first, but soon she accepted them back, and the family lived as one big loving unit. Each bun interacting beautifully with each other. Cleaning, licking, snuggling, eating together, sleeping together. They brought such a joy to my heart to see them!
A few months later, the original breeder of Albert and Ellen, contacted me to tell me she had a Siamese sable little girl. Many years ago, I had a sable girl…so this colour was very special to me, and I had been waiting a long time to welcome a bun like this back into my family.
This little girl was also the direct cousin of Juley, George and Ruby…the niece of Albert and Ellen (her dad was Albert’s brother!).
I decided to have her, and bond her into the family group. Albert wasn’t having any of it at first….chasing, leaping on her, and generally just causing madness! However, after a few days of trying, it seemed that one day they just clicked! I named the girl Sophie…as she is as much a daughter to Albert and Ellen, as their own Ruby!
This family unit is unlike any bonded buns I have seen. The interaction between them all is incredible. I honestly cannot stress that enough. They all get one with each other….and are alllways sleeping together in one huuuge pile!
As I have known them all since babies…they have all been handled, and are a tame as you could imagine! Relatives who come over to the house and see them say they are like little teddys!
If I climb into their pen, they all come running over to greet me, and I love sitting in their run, and having them climb on me, and nudge me…even sit right next to me! They are the most social and friendly group you could ever hope to meet!
I am heartbroken at the prospect of having to give them up. It would however bring me so much joy to see them go to a beautiful loving home, who appreciates and loves them as much as I do. It is rare you will ever find a most closely bonded or loving and sociable group of buns.
The ideal set up for them would be a shed with an attached run, where they have the freedom to run about and play. Also a loving bunny mum or dad who would come and socialise and interact with them, as they all love attention!
I have literally hundreds of pics of all the buns as they are growing up, and during the bonding and other various stages of their lives. I’d be happy to put all these pics of cds for the new others, so they have the full background of this family.
All buns are fit and healthy, with no health or emotionally problems. All the boys are neutered, and all the buns are vaccinated.
Please contact me if you would like any information on this group. I could literally go on for hours…and I haven’t even started on the individual character of them! Oooo and what characters! Hehe!
Sorry for the really long post.
There is a little pic of them in my sig, but I have looooooooads more I can update the post with later.
