Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Splay leg?

Camellia

Warren Scout
I'm currently fostering baby rabbits, they are about 5 mos. old......

Not entirely certain though. I've had them for a month or so.

One of the babies however, her front legs are starting to look quite odd.

When she sits, her front legs bend a little inwards at the middle.......

The same thing when she hops.

She doesn't have any problems hopping around, though.

I will be making a vet appointment for her, just also wanting advice/input on this.

Does it sound like splay leg?

If not does anyone have any clue?

What is the prognosis for something like this?

It's just boggling my mind as I've never seen this before, calling the vet in half an hour when they open to book an appointment to have her looked at.

Any input appreciated, thanks.

I'm also thinking her legs may be a little sore? As she will sit there, and sit up just enough so that her front legs are just hanging over the floor....And sit there like that for a good while.

I've called and made an apmnt. for her, should I be putting her somewhere where she can't move around alot?

Her appointment's for tomorrow morning, I can let you know what she says.

It's almost like she's turning "knock-kneed" :?
