  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Spot on boy's bits

Azraelm

Wise Old Thumper
Whilst checking to see if my foster boys are still boys I discovered that one of them has a spot just above his 'bits'.

It looks like a white headed spot like acne but is pointy headed rather than round. It is red round the base (Sorry to be so descriptive! )

I will speak to the rescue tomorrow about a trip to the vets, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas about what it could be?

There are 4 rabbits, 8.5 weeks old. My first thought was it was from a bite from one of the others, but it doesn't really look like that. They all seem fine- healthy, eating, binkying etc (Literally nothing else wrong discovered whilst giving them the once over.)

Thanks x

Sounds like the place they had there op done. They make a tiny cut in the center of the tummy just above there bits. How long have they been done? val

They haven't, they're only 8.5 weeks old.

It doesn't really look like a cut...more like a raised spot :? And its on the area of skin with his bits

Should I take him to the vet do you think?

It really seems so trivial-its basically just a zit, but in a rude place!

Will speak to the rescue tomorrow anyway
