  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

When I took Rudy to the vets today, my vet informed me of a change in the emergency service that my vet will provide.

Instead of the emergency service being held at my vets, emergency cases will be in Wolverhampton instead of Cannock, however my vets in Cannock will be offering a new saturday service and an emergency clinic on a sunday :D

This is fine for me as I drive, although Wolvo is a lot further and would be a bit of a pain, I could still get there.

I just thought this would be interesting for people looking for a vet. Its worth asking what happens with the emergency service at the practice. I imagine it would be even more important if you don't drive as you'd need to make sure you could get the the emergency vets if needed.

That's a good point Laura, as I have no idea about the emergency service at my new vets :? I will ask next time I'm there :D Cheers :)

Well done Loops for highlighting this :thumb:
When a Bun gets poorly you can bet your bottom dollar it'll be at a weekend
So knowing the oncall arrangements for your Vet in advance is one less thing to worry about.
