Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Neutering question

Benjiandbarney

Warren Scout
Hi all..
As some of you are aware I lost my Barney this week  To cut a long story short, my other bun Benji is on his lonesome and nowI am thinking of getting him another playmate. Benji is not neutured (barney was) and its never been a problem as he never erm.. humped barney :p not sure why but he never has!!? I want to get a rescued male bun who has been neutured but my question is, will it cause probs? and will Benji harrass the new bun???
Big thanks, Claire

Sorry to hear you lost Barney.

I would have him neutered. Salt and Pepper are brothers, but still fought until they were neutered and afterwards too for a while.

I'd get him a rescue girly bunny who's been spayed, after he's been castrated and his homones have settled. Two castrated unrelated males are more likely to fight than a spayed girly and castrated boy. Good luck with whatever you decide, though! :)
