New Hutch What Size?

The recommended hutch size for 2 small/medium size bunnies is 5X2X2 so I'd make it longer if you could. :D

Edit: Didn't look at the link before posting    That hutch looks big enough as its muliple storeys. Sorry!

looks like a nice hutch should be lots of space, although another run too yeah so they can binky about. one point though, its 2'6" deep, nice for laying down bunnies, but longer than your arm. it may be slightly more dufficult to clean out, just check you can reach in far enough to clean ok.

If 4 foot is the height spread over 3 levels, you only have 16 inches per level which is not very tall.

This is 18 inches tall per layer http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rabbit-hutche...6385993QQihZ018QQcategoryZ63513QQcmdZViewItem

the happy hutch company also sells 2 foot high ones for each layer which http://www.happyhutch.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=71&categoryID=5 and http://www.happyhutch.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=44&categoryID=6

I agree with Janice - I don't think 16" per level is high enough for the size bunny you are describing. They need to be able to stretch right up (both to keep them flexible and to allow them to wash properly) without touching the top.

I have a 6*2*2 hutch from happyhutch (one of the links Janice gave you) and it is a really good sturdy construction. They do have lots of combinations so you may find something suitable there or their ebay shop which is the same stuff but a bit cheaper!

the alternative is, with minimal DIY experience to build one. its costing me about £40 in wood, then i have to get felt and screws and bolts for the door and stuff. well worth it. it depends really on the time available, the wood can be delivered in whatever size you want.

Try to get someone to build you one, I had this one built for far less than shop bought ones :D

it is 6 x 2 x 2 interior size.

Alternatively, if you have room get a shed, 6X4 ft is big enough for two buns, and then just add a run via catflap.

Or if a shed is too big, a child's playhouse is a good alternative :D and you can sit in with them, and its easier to clean out.

i always assumed a rabbit would never use a cat/dog flap, until the other day when my rabbit hopped in through ours! a shed would be lovely for them, probably the best value for money.

Hi thanks everyone my garden is not big enough for a play house or shed but I will take into account what you have said about the height.

Thanks
