  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Millie has started sneezing!

Does anyone know if I should take my bunny to the vets as she's started to sneeze. Could it just be some dust or the heat or something or could it be worse? She's rearing babies at the moment so I don't want to take her to the vets over nothing. So I was wondering whether anyone could help me out?

Thanks x

Maybe it could have been dust from the hay.
If she is still sneezing tomorrow i would take her to the vets.
Hope all is well.

Yeah i've used different hay as I couldn't get to usual place hopefully it is just down to that.
I will see how she goes as i've read that sneezing could be a sign of snuffles.

The dust could come from the ground or area around her.

My lot have been sneezing because the soil is so dry and powdery and they can't help but to dig in it.

Our are indoors and very clean. I would say, given a kind answer on a post I made in another area that is is probably the heat but keep a check on it.

Thanks for your help I keeping a close eye on her. I'm going to change the inside of her hutch today to newspaper and not wood shavings to see if it could be that. Hopefully its the hay i'm getting some new stuff today.

Thanks all!
