The nethie gang's trip to the vet

HS

Wise Old Thumper
Busy day yesterday, the vet didn't quite know what had happened. Three nethies, two of them BIBs
Squidgy was having his final jab for ear mites.
Salt has developed a green nose :? and he has an infection, so he's on Baytril at the moment. Hopefully that will clear it up. The vet did listen to his chest and hear nothing, so that was a good sign.
Pepper just went along for the ride. :D

Thanks Becki
Just a little concerned about Salt, but he's still eating. They had strawberries for the first time today, and that was very cute indeed! He has a pink and green nose now

There is a disease that causes green fur but I can't remember what it is :?

Found it, it's called Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and it's a bacteria that likes areas of the skin that ge moist (e.g. if the bun is dribbling), it makes the skin sore and turns the fur a greenish colour. Treatment is antibiotics so if he's on baytril that would cover it anyway.

Of course it could just be he's been snacking on greens :D

Thanks Tamsin. That's really interesting. I hadbn't got a clue!
Well, that's what I originally thought, that he'd been dipping his face in the water bowl (not a very tidy drinker) and then foraging in hay and grass, but it's definitely a discharge.
Glad to hear Baytril would clear the other up too.
