  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Giving worming stuff- confused?

I've always thought that you had to mix woring stuff into their water but the bottle just said that dosage to give him and not to mix with water or anything, is this right? To be honest my baby is 9 months old and he has never had it before because I didn't realise that you had to even after reading heaps of care stuff. The way I found out was looking at classifieds an add said desexed/wormed/vaccinated. I was like what? Wormed?

Worming

I have to admit that I have never heard of a bunny being wormed. Im not saying they don't though. Hopefully someone else will be able to tell you definitely. :?

Rabbits rarly need worming but if you have to it usualy comes in liquid form, and its once. Some boarders do ask that your rabbit is up to date with jabs but never wormed its rare there not done routenly. val

I wouldn't worry about it unless your rabbit is very skinny and you and the vet can't find any other cause.

I worm mine monthly as I have a cat, so don't want to take any chances

Phew a felt like a bad bunny mummy, it says on the bottom to use if they have them or as a precausion and I thought that I was being a bad bunny mummy and that if i said hay how do you do this a few people might turn round and say that i should of known that why i specified on the first post.
