when can baby bun leave mum

Hiya,

I wonder if anyone is on that can help with this one.

My friend is here with me and is looking to get a baby bun and has been told by a breeder that it is ok for a bun to be taken away from mum at 8 weeks, I said not, I thought it was 12 weeks but can someone with more experience than me help.

8 weeks is fine.

It depends on the breed, giants etc should stay with mum longer as they have more growing to do. I wean my lions at 6 weeks as their mum made it obvious she didn't want them around anymore, so 8 weeks is fine.
